TUSIB has actively participated in the 25th Charity Bazaar.
For 25 years first Saturday in December IWCK have been organizing on behalf of the International community in Kyiv biggest charity event that helps Ukrainian citizens!
IWCK: International Women´s Club of Kyiv (spouses of diplomats, expats, and foreign businessmen) is organizing this Bazaar in order to raise money for those in need in Ukraine. ALL REVENUES from this charity event would go to orphans, elderly people, disabled kids and others.
This year 43 embassies of foreign states took part in the Charity Bazaar. The stands represented national traditions, dishes and national products.
The embassy of Turkey was represented in a very wide and varied manner. Guests had the opportunity to appreciate the taste of Turkish coffee with Turkish delicious sweets and enjoy a lot of traditional Turkish cuisine, as well as buy souvenirs from Turkey. Also at the stand of the Turkish embassy everyone had the opportunity to learn the ancient art of the Ottoman Empire – Ebru.
Ebru – the art of paper processing, called “Turkish marbling.” It is a method of aqueous surface design, which can produce patterns similar to smooth marble or other kinds of stone. The patterns are the result of color floated on either plain water or a viscous solution known as size, and then carefully transferred to an absorbent surface, such as paper or fabric. The oldest of Ebru’s famous paintings was created in the XIth century. But the perfection of the image that has come down to us allows us to conclude that by the XIth century the Ebru technique had already reached perfection, and therefore art appeared much earlier than the well-known picture.
Thus, the Charity bazaar brings help not only to those in need in Ukraine, but also makes the cultures of our countries closer to each other.
