International reserves grew by 21% in 2017
International reserves of Ukraine as of January 1, 2018 amounted to 18 808 450 000 USD (in equivalent) according to preliminary data. During the year it grew by 21%.
Thus, the level of Ukraine’s international reserves at the end of 2017 exceeded the forecast of the National Bank (18.6 billion USD in equivalent, according to the inflation report for October-2017), despite a slight decrease in December by 0.5%.
As of January 1, 2018, the volume of international reserves covers 3.6 months of future imports, Ukraine’s obligations, current operations of the government and the National Bank.
