Turkey has become the largest buyer of Ukrainian oilseeds
As a result of 2016/2017 marketing year, Ukraine has a new absolute record for the export of cereals – 43.9 million tons – the Institute of Agrarian Economics. Of these, foreign supplies of corn amounted to 20.7 million tons, wheat – 17,500,000 tons, barley – 5,400,000 tons.
In the first half of 2017, the largest buyers of Ukrainian grain were countries of Africa, Asia and Europe.
The largest buyers of oilseeds grown in Ukraine were Turkey (24.0%), Iran (16.9%), Egypt (13.3%) and Italy (5.6%) in the first half of 2017. Part of these countries is 60% of total sales of oilseeds.
